DESCRIPTION:

In this program, you can appreciate the Inca architecture in various archaeological sites as Qorikancha, Saqsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Pukapukara, Tambomachay, Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, passing through different communities, several of which still maintain customs and way of life typical of the area, both in terms of economic activity such as agriculture, grazing, clothing and other things that stand out as part of the heritage of the Andean Culture. Inti Raymi (Fest. Of the Sun) is represented on the stage of Saqsayhuaman fortress starting with small ceremonies held in the courtyard of Qorikancha Temple and the Main Square of Cusco, called the Hauqaypata, from which, the royal followers go to the slope of the fortress every June. Each year special stands are built for the visitors that can reach about 100 000 on that day. Local people sit around the complex to watch the ceremony. Finally, to reach the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, an extraordinary masterpiece of Inca architecture. The circuit is full of natural attractions that give visitors a unique feeling of adventure, in direct contact with nature.

Itinerary

DAY 1: 23-JUNIO: CITY TOUR

Arrival in Cusco. Reception and transfer to your accommodation. In the afternoon we start our tour visiting the great archaeological monuments Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral of Cusco, built on the great palace of the Inca Wiracocha. Then we headed Saqsayhuaman (The Royal House of Sun). Within this vast complex, other archaeological sites are located as Q'enqo (Center for astronomical observations); temple devoted to land, Pukapukara (Centro military, administrative and supervisory), its function was to control the Inca Trail and Tambomachay (Temple of the Water and Baths of the Inca), which was a center of worship and adoration of the water. Then return to your accommodation. Overnight.

DAY 2: 24-JUNIO: INTI RAYMI

Early morning, transfer from your accommodation to Qorikancha, where the Inti Raymi begins, tour guided during the Inti Raymi, center of worship and adoration of the Sun, box lunch, transfer to Saqsayhuaman and finally Transfer to your accommodation. Overnight.

DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY

We will move from their lodgings to Pisaq, a strategic lookout over the town of Taray, the Nevado Veronica and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will continue to Ollantaytambo, passing through Calca and Urubamba.Visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. This served as an astronomical observatory for the Incas. Then, return to Cusco, visiting on the way the people of Chinchero (People of the Rainbow), which was an agricultural center in Inca times. Transfer to your accommodation. Overnight.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU

Early morning, transfer from your accommodation to the train station to head to the town of Aguas Calientes. During the trip, observe beautiful landscapes, and the change of vegetation from the Andean landscape to tropical countries. Guided tour in groups. Then, free time and then transfer to the train station to return to the city of Cusco. Transfer to your accommodation. Overnight.

DAY 5: DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the airport exit and / or bus station.
