In this program, you´ll enjoy guided visits of historical places of the Incan culture, as well as of colonial times and in addition, you´ll be able to observe changes in the landscapes, flora and fauna. One of the most wonderful and unforgettable experiences, will be the visit of the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu; one of the Incas´ last refuges and at the same time, an architectural testimony of the Incan Empire. Today, Machu Picchu is considered as one of the world´s wonders.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO: CITY TOUR

Arrival in Cusco, reception and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, we´ll start our tour with the visit of the great archaeological monument of the Qorikancha (Qori = Gold and Kancha = Enclosure, also known as Temple of the Sun) and that of Cusco´s Cathedral, built on top of the foundations of the Inca Wiracocha´s great palace and the Incas´ Sacred Lagoon, in Haukaypata (Main Square). Then, we´ll head towards Saqsayhuamán (Saqsay = Satisfied and Huamán = Falcon, also known as The Sun´s Royal House). Within this great complex, there are other archaeological compounds like Q´enqo; an astronomical observation center and temple dedicated to Mother Earth or Pachamama (Pacha = World and Mama = Mother), Pukapukara; a military, administrative and watch center which controlled the Incan Trail and finally, Tambomachay known as the Water´s Temple or Inca´s Baths and which was a center of worship to water. Then, return to your hotel, dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2: MACHU PICCHU

Early in the morning, transfer from your hotel to the train station, to head towards the village of Aguas Calientes. During the trip, we´ll observe beautiful landscapes, as well as changes in the vegetation, from the Andean surroundings to tropical valleys. Upon arrival, we´ll go up by bus to the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where you´ll have a group guided visit. Afterwards, free time in the Sanctuary, lunch in Aguas Calientes and then, transfer to the train station to return to the city of Cusco. In Cusco, transfer to your hotel, dinner and a good night´s rest.

DAY 3: CUSCO (DEPARTURE)

Breakfast at your hotel; transfer to the airport or to the bus station and end of our services.
