DESCRIPTION:

This circuit offers a different way to get to MACHU PICCHU, by little explored Incan trails. The enchanting landscape and natural beauty, along with native flora and fauna, accompany us throughout our adventure, as we´ll pass by mountains and valleys and clearly distinguish more than five ecological levels with their microclimates.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CUSCO (ARRIVAL)

Arrival in Cusco, reception and transfer to your hotel. Free day to get acclimated. Overnight in your selected hotel.

DAY 2: CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA

In the early hours of the morning, we´ll travel by bus to Mollepata, passing by the villages of Izcuchaca and Limatambo. Then, we´ll start our adventure and hike with the support staff, walking towards Soraypampa, observing on the way the differences between ecological levels, as well as the snow-covered Salkantay, Humantay and Soray mountains, with their high Andean landscapes. Finally, we´ll go by Cruzpata and Silcakancha, to get to our campsite in Soraypampa, where we´ll spend the night.

DAY 3: SORAYPAMPA – CHALLWAY

Today, we´ll hike towards the snow-capped peaks of mounts Humantay and Salkantay, observing the local flora and fauna, the Salkantay´s glaciers, as well as the condors with their majestic flight. Later on, we´ll descend towards Huayraqpampa and Challway, where we´ll camp for the night.

DAY 4: CHALLWAY – SAHUAYACO

During the hike, we´ll observe a wide diversity of jungle flora and fauna, as we´ll go by Arrayanniyoc. Then, we´ll get to the jungle´s edge area, where we´ll contemplate the Santa Teresa River, its thermal waters and cataracts of great magnitude. Finally, we´ll arrive at our campsite in Sahuayaco, to spend the night.

DAY 5: SAHUAYACO – AGUAS CALIENTES

Following our trek, we´ll go by the jungle´s edge area, as we´ll sight coffee, fruit tree, coca and other plantations. From Lucmabamba, we´ll descend towards the train station in Puente Ruinas, where we´ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, to spend the night at a pension. 

DAY 6: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES – CUSCO

Early in the morning, we´ll go up to Inti Punku, to contemplate the sunrise over the Incan city. Then, we´ll go on a guided visit of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, we´ll board the train back to the city of Cusco. Transfer to your hotel and rest.

DAY 7: CUSCO (DEPARTURE)

Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to the airport or bus station and end of our services.
